Who else is having a go at building boards?
I have just surfed my new 9'er.
To the experienced and maybe even the not so experienced shaper it would appear a bit rudimentary but... it surfs well in the 2' conditions available.
Shaped it with little idea of required volume to suit my weight... 9'*29"*41/2" easily floats 73Kgs.
The board is EPS Foam, epoxy resin, 6oz glass, 2 _layer_s top and bottom. I've used carbon fibre to reinforce the rails and carbon fibre for deck patches.
My paddle shaft is the top of a broken windsurfer mast, the blade I shaped from marine ply, Cross handle is bamboo.
Cheers Mike
