SUPS OUTNUMBER LONGBOARDERS AT OAHU C4 EVENT |
|
As Stand Up Paddle Surfing enjoys its best summer ever in Hawaii, 59 competitors turned up for a C4 Waterman event at Queens, Waikiki, first weekend of July, outnumbering longboard competitors! The event was the third round of the Steinlager Shaka Longboard Series, and the C4 event got the best of the excellent head-high conditions to put on an incredible display in front of a large crowd. Stand-out paddle surfer of the day was Makaha’s Tiare Lawrence who seemed unfazed by the fact that there was no wahine division and blazed through to the semi-finals in the open men’s! Overall winner was North Shore firefighter Kamaki Worthington.
