Stand Up Paddle Surfing

Stand Up Paddle Surfing made its presence known in the Byron region July 1 when SUPS founder Chris De Aboitiz, the Laguna Bay Surfboards team and shaper Phil Myers joined Sput Keevers of Byron Longboards for a demonstration in the Ballina River.
Earlier in the winter the SUPS and LB teams made it down to the big smoke of Sydney to perform demonstrations and workshops at Bondi Beach and Narrabeen Lakes. Former world champion surfer Tom Carroll joined the Narrabeen session and showed that he too has been infected by the SUPS bug.
